Experiencing drastic fluctuation for over two years, the global pulp market in 2024 is still under pressure brought by rising supply, falling demand and weak end etc. The overall demand in pulp and paper industry is still under ongoing influence caused by sluggish economic growth, geopolitical conflicts, etc. Meanwhile, China’s large market scale, well-developed industrial system and rapid development of emerging industries have become basic driving forces in the sustained growth of Chinese pulp demand. In 2024, China’s pulp market will continue to keep the same pace in the increases of imported pulp and domestic pulp, filling the gap caused by falling demand in Europe and America and relieving the contradiction between supply and demand of pulp in the whole industry. China remains a major force in balancing and stabilizing the global pulp market.
This pulp week annual meeting in the theme of Revitalizing Steady Growth, with a view to the worldwide economy and the whole industrial situations, focusing on the development experience of global pulp market in the past decade, judging the trend and direction and proposing measures and suggestions, aims to make a good start for the sound development of 2024 global pulp market.
