Shanghai Pulp Week is an international annual event with full support from local and global renowned paper companies. It has also formed a long-term strategic partnership with leading international pulp manufacturers. It is an international industry event with the largest scale, the largest number of participants and the highest level of participants in the global pulp and paper industry.
Shanghai Pulp Week takes place in Shanghai the third week of March each year.
Main Tasks
To provide an open and fare communication platform for international pulp, paper, raw materials, trade, logistic and financial companies and professionals;
To provide a full range of support to help global pulp suppliers and service providers to enter China market, and Chinese paper producers to understand the global pulp markets;
To help establish a balanced, stable and sustainable pulp market order for the global pulp suppliers and buyers.
History & Development
The annual event of Shanghai Pulp Week, was established in 2007, with the strong pulp demand growth in China, while Shanghai became the global center of communication, and activities in pulp and paper industry. In 2015, China Paper & Pulp Industry Chamber of Commerce began to organize and hold international pulp meetings and related activities in the name of "Shanghai Pulp Week". It has standardized and improved in delivering the meeting, content, scope of participation, time and organization of the event. Shanghai Pulp Week now provides the services of annual pulp meeting, theme reception, welcome dinner, parallel sessions, summit meeting, special seminar, and press conference etc.
Shanghai Pulp Week is known as an international industry event with the largest scale, the largest number of participants and the highest level of participants in the global pulp and paper industry.
China & Global Pulp Market
China is the largest paper producing and raw materials import country in the world. In 2020, 23 million tons of commercial pulp was imported to China, accounts for one-third of global market, and it maintains 3% growth per year. Following the ban on all imports of solid waste China from 2021, the demand of imported pulp will further increase to 8%-10%. It makes China the largest pulp market in the world with demand continues to grow, and also the most important consumer market for global pulp suppliers.

China Paper & Pulp Industry Chamber of Commerce(short for CPICC)is a leading Chinese paper industry organization and is directly administrated by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC).
CPICC is composed of representative enterprises from different fields and regions in China's pulp and paper industry including Nine Dragons, Huatai Group, Sun Paper, China Paper, Asia Symbol, Bohui Paper, Hengan, Vinda, Jianhui Paper, Century Sunshine, Dahe Paper, Shengda Group, Vanov Group, Jinguanfangzhou Paper,Rongsheng Paper, Dongguan Jinzhou Paper,C&D, Hengfeng Paper, Jiangnan Paper, etc.. Currently CPICC has over 300 members, with the paper production accounting for more than 70% of the country's total output, from 20 different regions in China, business containing paper, pulp, chemicals, machinery, packaging, printing, forestry, ,international trade and all industries in the whole paper packaging chain.
As a national industry organization operating under the international standards, CPICC has developed long stable cooperation with the top paper and pulp enterprises worldwide,such as International Paper, UPM, Metsä Group,Suzano,CMPC,Asia Symbol, APP,Arauco,Eldorado,Oji etc. and built strong strategic partnerships with the leading equipment and automation suppliers including Valmet, Voith, Andritz, ABB and Siemens. CPICC has also established long-term relationships with paper industry associations and consultancies in EU, US, Canada, Japan, Finland and India.
