Latin America's largest paper and pulp producer Su-zano has reported operating cash generation of R$4.9 billion (US$940 million) for the second quarter of 2021. This represents an increase of 47% compared with the same period last year, and the best quarterly result since Suzano’s inception, the Brazilian company said in a statement.
The world's leading eucalyptus pulp producer said its quarterly “re-sults continue to be driven by strong pulp sales and higher prices in the market. Suzano ended the quarter with current pulp inventories below the optimum operational level. The paper segment was marked by solid commercial and operational performance, given prices increases and sales volume in the domestic market,” the state-ment said.
“Pulp sales during 2Q21 were 2.5 million tons, while paper sales to-taled 296,000 tonnes, contributing to net revenue of R$9.8 billion in 2Q21,” according to the producer.
Suzano says it is enabled to make 10.9 million tonnes of market pulp and 1.4 million tonnes of paper per year.
